ESF Named a 2020 Economic Champion

The SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) was recognized as a 2020 Economic Champion by CenterState Corporation for Economic Opportunity (CenterState CEO) during a recent virtual celebration.

Grad Student's Photo Included in Global Exhibit

In commemoration of the United Nations' 75th anniversary, the humanitarian organization hosted a global photography contest. A photo submitted by Shumaila Javed Bhatti, a SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry graduate student, was selected as a winner.

Dr. Mark Teece Wins Teaching Award

Mark Teece, associate professor, Department of Chemistry was selected as the 2020 recipient of the ESF College Foundation Award for Exceptional Achievement in Teaching.

Chancellor Malatras Outlines Comprehensive Spring Semester Plan

State University of New York Chancellor Jim Malatras today met with students, faculty, and campus leaders at Upstate Medical University, Onondaga Community College, and the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry to ensure campuses will be well prepared to reopen for in-person classes this spring. Presidents at Upstate Medical, Onondaga Community College, and SUNY ESF confirmed their campuses will be ready.

Dr. Jerrold Belant Named IUCN Voting Member

Dr. Jerrold Belant, Camp Fire Conservation Fund professor and director of ESF's recently formed Global Wildlife Conservation Center (GWCC), was named a voting member of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

Joanie Mahoney Named Fifth ESF President

The State University of New York Board of Trustees today approved the appointments of Dr. Timothy E. Sams as SUNY Old Westbury President, Dr. Mantosh Dewan as Upstate Medical University President, and Joanie Mahoney as SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry President.
