ESF’s Oakie Bursts Into the Mascot Madness Final Four
Oakie the Acorn, mascot of the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF), has advanced to the Final Four in SUNY's Mascot Madness contest.
This is Oakie's second appearance in the Final Four. They were crowned champion in 2017 in a championship round against SUNY Geneseo's Victor E. Knight.
Oakie and Victor E. Knight are meeting again in this round of competition.
The mascot of the Mighty Oaks already defeated mascots from Onondaga County Community College, SUNY Canton, and Binghamton University to earn a spot in the Final Four.
Voting opens at noon April 7 and runs until 4 p.m. April 11. Oakie's fans are encouraged to cast ballots from all their email accounts but are limited to one vote per day. In order for a vote to count, people must verify it via an active email address. Additional votes will be able to be cast on Twitter and Instagram from SUNY's accounts.
