ESF Credentials (ESFiD)
Summary (what you get)
Each ESF student, faculty, and staff member has a username and password called your ESFiD. Your ESFiD is used to access the ESF network and resources such as file share, e-mail, IT service requests, and much more.
Service includes
- A pre-assigned username
- A private password
- Multi-factor authentication (MFA) as an additional security measure when using certain electronic resources
- Support managing your credentials
When you receive it
Faculty and Staff ESF credentials are provided through the Office of Human Resources (HR) to new employees, volunteers, researchers, and visiting scholars. The initial password issued is temporary and will expire within 14 days. You can change your password by going to https://portal.office.com.
Student credentials are provided when you are accepted to ESF. The initial credentials provide access to view your financial aid package. Remember your username and password! Once you decide ESF is the college for you, these credentials will give you access to all the same resources as current students.

- Self service portal to easily enroll and manage devices
- International bypass requests for students, faculty, and staff travelling abroad in regions with access limitations
- Compliance with security standards to maintain good standing with government and grant funding agencies
When you receive it
To start using MFA, you must enroll a device in DUO, the system ESF uses for two factor authentication.
