Newcomb Campus
Carriage House
Carrying forward from its original use, which included horse stalls, the Stone Garage is still the center of horsepower, though today in the form of combustion engines. This building was the former Carriage House for Arbutus Great Camp during the pre-ESF era. With its high ceilings, beam and stone construction, it was built with exacting standards under Archer Huntington's guidance.
This building is the headquarters of the Facilities unit at the Newcomb Campus. Facilities staff manage, repair, and maintain all aspects of the more than 28 buildings and 22 miles of road on the 15,000 acre Huntington Wildlife Forest at ESF Newcomb Campus.
ESF is proud to showcase the spectacular architecture of this building. The Stone Garage building is private, and not accessible to the public except during organized tours of campus.
