Mighty Oaks Topple Paul Smith's College in Overtime

Down by as many as 13 points in second half, the ESF men's basketball team mounted a furious comeback to defeat the Paul Smith's College Bobcats, 77-74, in overtime to win the Barkeater Cup.

On the Land, One-quarter of Vertebrates Die Because of Humans

A team of scientists from ESF and the U.S. Department of Agriculture analyzed the deaths of 42,755 animals that were reported in 1,114 published studies. They found that 28 percent of the animals' deaths were directly caused by humans.

Mighty Oaks Track Team Heads to Yale

Eight runners from the Mighty Oaks track team will travel to Yale University Feb. 9 to compete in the 15th Annual Giegengack Indoor Invitational. This will be the first out-of-state invitational for the ESF track team.

ESF Carnegie Classification Research Status Changes to R-2

ESF's status as a research university has been changed from "Doctoral Universities: Moderate Research Activity," otherwise known as R-3, to "Doctoral Universities: High Research Activity," which is commonly known as R-2.
