ESF Celebrates Black History Month

The SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) has a full slate of events to celebrate Black History Month.

Feb. 10: Year of Return-The Arrival of Enslaved Africans to the USA, 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. via Zoom, sponsored by the Office of Inclusion, Diversity and Equity (OIDE) during Diversity 24/7/365.

Feb. 13: Queen of Katwe, Live event with limited seating, open to students only, 8 p.m. in the Gateway Center. Registration is required. Sponsored by the Office of Student Involvement.

Week of Feb. 15: Black History Month Trivia, 5:30 p.m. via Zoom. Sponsored by the Baobab Society during a club meeting and co-sponsored by the OIDE MOC and WOC Initiatives (Date to be determined when students return to campus.)

Feb. 17: Historic Acknowledgement of Juneteenth, 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. via Zoom. Sponsored by OIDE during Diversity 24/7/365.

Feb. 20: Marvel's Black Panther. For students only; limited seating at 8 p.m. in the Gateway Center. Registration required. Sponsored by the Office of Student Involvement.

Feb. 23: Spirit and Essence Keynote Speaker: Dr. Maggie Lowery, from 5-7 p.m. Sponsored by The Baobab Society, Black Student Union, OIDE.

Feb. 26: Celebrating Blackness, time to be determined, via Zoom, Sponsored by the Black Student Union Black Student Union
