ESF WEATHER ALERT: ESF to Begin Operations at 11 a.m. Friday, 2/25; Classes & Events with a Start Time Before 11 am are Cancelled

ESF will begin in-person business operations at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 25, to allow additional time for faculty, staff, and commuting students to arrive to campus safely. In-person classes and activities with a start time before 11 a.m. are cancelled.

We have been in close contact with Syracuse University officials and SU's weather consultant, who advised the early morning commute could be hazardous. The College's Facilities team has been hard at work this morning removing snow, clearing roadways, and shoveling sidewalks.

Faculty, staff, and commuting students are encouraged to use their best judgment when traveling to and from campus and should coordinate with their supervisors and faculty if they have any concerns. If you are working a hybrid schedule, you should maintain it. Non-essential employees must charge appropriate leave accruals if they cannot work before 11 a.m. and supervisors are encouraged to approve employee requests.

SU is also delaying until 11 a.m. Friday. Please note that COVID-19 testing will be available at Kimmel (not the Stadium Testing Center) from noon to 1 p.m.

ESF will continue to monitor weather conditions in consultation with SU and share additional updates if further operational changes become necessary. In the event of continued inclement weather and if additional schedule changes become necessary, updated information will be announced with the notice ESF WEATHER ALERT through the following channels:

  • Campus email
  • Campus phone message system
  • On social media: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram
  • On esf.edu and esf.edu/news
  • Via local media outlets

Stay safe and stay warm!
