SUNY ESF Named an Adobe Creative Campus

Syracuse, N.Y. – April 8, 2024 – The SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) – one of the nation’s premier colleges focused exclusively on the study of the environment, developing renewable technologies, and building a sustainable future – is now an Adobe Creative Campus, making it the first and only higher education institution in the state of New York to earn this designation.

“This is a terrific benefit to ESF’s students, who now have additional access to creative tools and the opportunity to boost their digital skills. Our Adobe Creative Campus status is the perfect complement to ESF’s Digital Storytelling Studio. As our world becomes increasingly digital, we are excited to extend these new tools to all students so they can learn to sharpen their skills and stand out after graduation,” said ESF President Joanie Mahoney.

As an Adobe Creative Campus, ESF is part of a select group of colleges and universities empowering students with essential digital skills to succeed in the classroom and beyond. With full access to Adobe creativity tools, students learn to communicate more effectively, build their personal brands, prepare for the challenges of an increasingly digital world, and achieve their goals as students on campus and after graduation.

Utilizing Adobe Express, students learn to stand out through modern forms of communication such as video, podcasts, webpages, data visualization, and more. They are also empowered with the latest generative AI features from Adobe Firefly. Every ESF student can take courses and earn certified badges from Adobe, showing future employers that they have essential skills in communicating visually, establishing a social media presence, and understanding generative AI.

In addition to ensuring equitable access to Adobe Express and Adobe Firefly for all students, ESF collaborates with other Adobe Creative Campus institutions to share best practices in driving innovation and student success.

“As technology continues to play a central role in everything we do – from our lives to our jobs – it’s imperative that students become digitally literate and fluent early on in their academic careers,” said Todd Taylor, Adobe Pedagogical Evangelist. “With frequent exposure and access to tools, such as Adobe Creative Cloud, ESF students can build the critical digital and soft skills they will ultimately need to be successful in an ever-changing workforce.”
