Scouts

The Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts organizations strive to help our younger generations become independent, responsible and knowledgeable members of our communities. They also serve as a space for children and young adults to develop and explore interests, including the natural world.

Our staff can provide your troop with the ultimate Adirondack experience. Through our custom programs, scout groups can hike, paddle, and explore the Adirondacks while discovering the natural and human communities of the region.

Looking to earn a badge or complete a Journey? We can help! We are willing to work with troop leaders and volunteers to develop unique programs that will fulfill the requirements for a particular badge or Girl Scout journey.

Turn your day trip into something more with the use of our overnight facilities. With group-appropriate housing and a full service dining center, spend a night, weekend or week onsite for a fun-filled, adventure-packed trip for you and your scouts.

Interested in bringing your group to the Newcomb Camous? Simply contact us via phone (518.582.2000) or email (aic@esf.edu) and we'll begin working with you to develop an unforgettable outdoor experience for your scouts.

Guideboat Programming – Interested in getting your troop out on the water? Our fleet of authentic Adirondack guideboats and canoes serve as the perfect vehicle, literally and figuratively, to provide a hands-on, intimate look at lake ecosystems, geology, aquatic plants, logging and more.
