300 Students, One Snake Attend Activity Fair

Wednesday, Aug. 29, marked the annual student activities fair on the SUNY-ESF Quad, giving more than 300 students a chance to meander among 27 tables decorated with posters, photos and information. The purpose of this event was to give all the clubs, teams and societies on campus a chance to interact with new students who might be looking for something to do.

Orientation Leaders Deliver High-Energy Welcome

Being an Orientation Leader (OL) at SUNY-ESF is described as a fun, rewarding and challenging job. Every year, 50 upper-class students, under the leadership of the head OLs, train to welcome the freshmen into college life.

Record Number of Freshmen Arrive at ESF

The SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) expects to enroll a record number of 327 entering freshmen this week, along with 224 entering transfer students. The combined total of 551 new undergraduates for this fall is expected to match the record number enrolled at ESF last fall.

Newest ESF Students Arrive on Campus

It was a warm, sunny day at Centennial Hall on the ESF campus and the traffic on Stadium Place and Standart Street had stopped because of the many vehicles waiting to unload the belongings of ESF's new freshman students. Wednesday marked the first day of the school year at ESF as 327 freshmen arrived on campus, nearly all of them moving into Centennial Hall, the residence hall that opened a year ago. Transfer students — 224 of them — will arrive this weekend. Classes begin Monday, Aug. 27.

ESF Receives Innovative Instruction Technology Grants

The SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) received a grant to fund campus innovations through the State University of New York's (SUNY) 2012 Innovative Instruction Technology Grants (IITG) program.
