Graduate Programs in Paper & Bioprocess Engineering
Graduate studies reflect the strong trend toward diversification in the industry and offer opportunities for study in a variety of subjects related to the manufacture of pulp and paper as well as the broader bioprocess industries. Individual study programs are designed to meet specific personal needs.
M.S. & Ph.D. Degrees
An important component of the M.S. and Ph.D. graduate programs is research under direction of a major professor.
The Masters of Professional Studies (M.P.S.) Degree
The program options leading the M.P.S. degree is designed for train students from other fields in the fundamentals of chemical engineering applied in bioprocesses, biomaterials and other fields listed below. They are also ideal for engineers and scientists currently working in the industry who wish to retrain and refresh in a new field. The programs can be completed in 3 semesters on a full-time basis, but also can be done on a part-time basis.
The current demand for engineers at the B.S. level indicates that graduates of the M.P.S. program would be in high demand in the near future.
Some scholarship support is available.
An M.P.S. may be earned in one of four programs:
- Bioprocess Engineering
- Paper Science and Engineering
- Sustainable Engineering Management
- Wood Science
Many research projects are carried out in cooperation with other academic departments.
