Telecommunications

The Telecommunications Division is located in the lower level of the Physical Plant building and operates and maintains the campus phone and voicemail systems. It is responsible for all telephone and network communications wiring and cabling throughout the entire Syracuse campus, as well as the regional properties. 

The Telecommunications Division also assists with maintenance of the fire alarm system, but if you experience a fire alarm issue on campus please notify University Police at ext. 6666.

The goal of the Telecommunications Division is to avoid service disruptions and to prevent problems by detecting and correcting them before they occur.  To that end, we plan routine maintenance and updates during the year that will have the smallest impact possible for faculty and staff on campus. However, if planned and unplanned disruptions do occur, we will inform the campus community via email and attempt to restore service as soon as possible.
