Leopold to Present on Onondaga Lake Restoration

The March 5 session of Institute for Retired People will feature Dr. Donald Leopold, an ESF Distinguished Teaching Professor and chair of the Department of Environmental and Forestry Biology. He will discuss the many vegetation-based restoration projects at various stages near Onondaga Lake.

The leadership from every State University of New York (SUNY) campus in the Central New York area gathered at ESF Feb. 25 to call on local legislative leaders to continue their bold leadership in supporting New York's public higher education sector by creating a new Investment Fund and extending NYSUNY 2020 – including the broadly successful rational tuition policy – in the 2015-16 New York State Budget.

The Peace Corps has released its 2015 rankings of the top volunteer-producing colleges and universities across the country. ESF ranked No. 8 among small schools, with 12 alumni currently volunteering worldwide.

Seniors Lead ESF Over Davis College

Before the start of the season's final basketball game, ESF bid farewell to seniors Couri Leuschner (Carmel, N.Y., natural resources management), Matt Kowalski (Depew, N.Y., construction management), Danny MacElrath (Milton, N.Y., environmental resources engineering) and Suthod Young (Moosup, Conn., construction management). Those seniors then came up big as the Mighty Oaks defeated the Davis College Falcons 83-78 at Allyn Hall on the Onondaga Community College campus.

Environmental Career Fair Comes to Campus

More than 85 potential employers are expected to visit the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) to showcase what they do and discuss career opportunities with ESF students at the 14th Annual Environmental Career Fair Feb. 25.
