There are numerous resources and support services within the greater Syracuse community that are available to any SUNY ESF students seeking additional assistance. You can find a list of off-campus resources below.
Beth’s Bounty ESF’s on-campus food pantry available to all students.
SU Hendricks Food Pantry Available to ESF students. Information on hours and location can be found on their website.
The Food Bank of Central New York’s Outreach Department can connect you with a local coordinator to help with the application process.
Food Pantry Finder Find local pantries, soup kitchens, food shelves, food banks, and other food help.
Samaritan Center Provides meals 365 days a year, no questions asked.
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Provides nutrition benefits to supplement food budgets with healthy food.
Catholic Charities of Onondaga County Offers emergency financial assistance.
CNY 211 Connects individuals to resources in the community. Call 211 to speak to a representative.
Abortion Telemedicine $199 pays for a video-chat with a health provider, abortion pills if appropriate, and delivery by USPS Priority Mail in 1-3 business days.
All Options Free talk line to discuss pregnancy, parenting, adoption, or abortion.
Hey Jane Virtual clinic offering safe and private services, including birth control prescriptions, abortion care, and certain infection treatments.
New York Abortion Access Fund Financial assistance for abortion care.
Syracuse Health Center of Syracuse Provides health care, reproductive care, STI testing/treatment/vaccines, and THT. Accepts insurance.
Women’s Health Horizons Provides personalized treatment for women’s health concerns.
CNY Fair Housing Dedicated to eliminating housing discrimination and ensuring equal access to housing opportunities.
Housing Choice Voucher Program A federal program that subsidizes tenant’s monthly rent for eligible individuals.
Rescue Mission Provides emergency shelter, clothing, and three free meals every day of the year, as well as case management.
Salvation Army Provides temporary emergency housing, case management, and referrals to other services for families and women.

TimelyCare provides free, 24/7 access to virtual care services for ESF students.
Helio Health 24/7 Crisis Care Provides voluntary support, assistance and urgent treatment to all ages who are experiencing a mental health and/or substance use crisis.
Liberty Resources Mobile Crisis Unit Available 24/7 to assist individuals experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis. They can be reached at 315-251-0800.
TimelyCare provides free, 24/7 access to virtual care services for ESF students.
Syracuse Community Health Provides services, including primary care, dental services, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, eye care and podiatry.
SUNY STPN Students interested in setting up psychiatric care can meet with the Counseling Center to determine if a referral to SUNY STPN would be appropriate. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 315-470-4716.
SU Pharmacy Services Students can arrange for their prescriptions to be filled at the SU Pharmacy in the Barnes Center.

Upstate Outpatient Pharmacy Financial Assistance Program Helps patients in financial need purchase necessary medications and supplies.
Well Now Urgent Care Provides a variety of health care services, including x-rays, injuries, physicals, illnesses, and allergies. Accepts insurance.
Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) Helps eligible New Yorkers heat and cool their home.
Lifeline A federal program that lowers the monthly cost of phone or internet service.
Low Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP) Helps households pay the cost of water and sewer services. Can also assist household with past due bills for water and/or sewer service.
Center for Disability Resources Provides academic accommodations for students with disability who meet eligibility.
AccessCNY Helps individuals with mental health diagnoses identify and achieve their educational goals
Student Legal Services Students who pay the SU full-time activities fee are eligible for free legal advice, and in certain situations, court representation.
IRS Free File Program Qualified filers can electronically prepare and file federal individual income tax return for free using tax preparation and filing software.
New York State Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) Helps eligible families with some or all of the cost of child care.
Pet Food Pantry Helps individuals who are having trouble taking care of their pets.
Unemployment Benefits NY state residents who are out of work can apply for unemployment benefits through the New York Department of Labor.
Vera House Offers counseling, advocacy, emergency shelter, and a crisis line for survivors of domestic/dating violence, sexual assault, or stalking.
