Student Health Services
Within an easy walk of the Syracuse campus, several medical providers are available to students. ESF has developed a relationship with Crouse Medical Practice (CMP) to provide health care as well as pharmacy services for ESF students who opt to use their services.

ESF Student Health at CMP provides a fast-track clinic offering medical specialties including:
- Chronic medical conditions that you need managed while at school
- Colds/flu/sinusitis/pneumonia/stomach virus/UTI’s/tick bites
- Depression/Anxiety screening and treatment (we will refer out if needed)
- Gynecological exams/pap testing/testing for sexually transmitted infections
- Injuries
- Laboratory testing
- Prescribe medications
- Referrals to specialty groups
- Sport physicals
- Vaccinations (Flu/Tdap/HPV and many others)
- Wellness exams
- X-rays
Walk in appointments are available, but appointments are recommended.

CMP accepts most major and national insurance plans and GEO Blue. The required ESF-approved student health insurance plan is usable at Crouse.
Meet the Staff
MacKenzie Rotella, Family Nurse Practitioner
MacKenzie serves as the Nurse Practitioner for the Health Center. MacKenzie obtained
her Master's of Science degree in Family Nurse Practitioner Studies from SUNY Polytechnic
Institute, her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing from Temple University, and has worked
in a variety of practice settings including urgent care and dermatology. In her free
time she enjoys traveling, spending time outdoors gardening, hiking, and cooking.
Debra Burrage
Debra serves as the nurse for the ESF Student Health Center at Crouse. Debra has worked
in the field of nursing since 2004. She has worked in areas including geriatrics,
pediatrics, and dialysis. She enjoys walking, shopping, traveling and spending time
with her family. She also enjoys having fun with her coworkers.
Cindy Crooks
Cindy serves as the Health Center’s Administrative Assistant and Coordinator. She
is often the first person you meet when you walk through the door and will instantly
make you feel at home. She has been working at Crouse for twenty years. She is a hardworking
grandmother with grandchildren in college. She is very caring, outgoing, helpful,
and always like to find the best in everyone and make the most of every situation.
