Generative AI at ESF
Generative AI: Shaping the way ESF works, studies, and innovates
Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) at SUNY ESF
Generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools are redefining what it means to work, study, teach, and create. These tools generate new content based on existing data from the internet or other databases, including user or College data in certain applications. Generative AI requires human input, editing, and evaluation. It is our responsibility to review and revise AI-generated content to ensure its accuracy and make it our own.
AI at ESF
It is recommended that users should only enter SUNY ESF data when working in the following approved generative AI tools, Microsoft Co-Pilot and Adobe Express Generative AI, which meet security and compliance standards.
Tools for Students, Faculty, and Staff
- Microsoft Co-Pilot is now powered by OpenAI's latest GPT-5 model (the same model that powers ChatGPT).
- Google Gemini (SU Net ID) is also now available, including access to Google's 2.5 Pro Model featuring guided learning, coding assistance, a canvas editor, and image generation.
- Adobe Express is powered by Adobe Firefly and can be used to generate images, videos, social posts, posters, and more from a text prompt.
Learn About AI
- Check out the Moon library guide for a history of AI, guidance on how to ask better questions, evaluting AI resources, and information on AI in academia.
- Learn about AI's impact on technology and cybersecurity in the SUNY ESF KnowBe4 training library.
- Take the Google AI Fundamentals course offered for free as part of a partnership between SUNY and Google.
