DUO

ESF uses DUO for our Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) which provides additional layer of security when logging into ESF applications or devices. MFA verifies your identity by requiring additional credentials, like accepting a push notification or entering a passcode. 

Follow the steps below to setup DUO.

Install the DUO app on a device:

1. On your mobile device, open the app store
2. Search for DUO Mobile
3. Tap Get or Install

On a second device, preferably a computer:

1. Open a web browser
2. Go to https://secure.esf.edu
3. On the right, click Setup DUO Two Factor Logins
4. Type your esfid@esf.edu
5. Type your ESF password
6. Check the box to agree to the acceptable use policy
7. Click Submit

A QR will be displayed on the screen.

On your mobile device:

1. Open the DUO application
2. Tap Add Account
   1. Allow access to camera
   2. Allow access to notifications
3. Once the camera app is opened, point it at the QR code

If your DUO app shows a tile that says SUNY ESF and contains 6 numbers you have completed the setup.
