ESF Adds EV Truck to Its University Police Fleet

More than 1,800 online bachelor's and master's degree programs at institutions across the nation were assessed and ranked on student engagement, faculty credentials, and services and technologies.

Staff Spotlight: Jacob Gedetsis

Jacob Gedetsis is the Coordinator of the Writing Resource Center (WRC) and recently became a full-time Lecturer at ESF. As a first-generation college student, he's no stranger to hard work and adversity, allowing him to lend an empathetic ear to his students. He's used his connections from a decade in Syracuse to bridge gaps between ESF and the community. We sat down with Jacob to learn some of his favorite things about Syracuse, ESF and life.

ESF Chestnut Project Seeks Public Comment

Governor Hochul Announces Green Purchasing Communities Program

Good news for local governments! Governor Hochul recently announced the new Green Purchasing Communities program, a first-in-the-nation program that makes it easier for all forms of local governments (villages, towns, cities, counties, school districts, etc.) to ensure the products they are purchasing have a lower environmental impact. This program aligns closely with the Center for Sustainable Materials Management's (the Center) vision to make New York State a driving force of the future by galvanizing and leading all sectors of the State to apply the principles of sustainable materials management, propelling the State to become the least-resource consumptive and most circular in the country.

ESF Joins Global Alliance, Pledging Commitment to Protecting Nature

During the global biodiversity conference COP15, the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) joined as a founding university in the Nature Positive Universities Alliance, reinforcing its commitment to reversing biodiversity decline. ESF is one of more than 117 universities worldwide and the first in New York state to join the alliance as a founding member to work toward a global goal to halt, prevent, and reverse nature loss through addressing their own impacts and restoring ecosystems harmed by their activities.
